Federal News Radio

For more than a dozen years, Bill Bransford co-hosted FEDtalk, a biweekly show on Federal News Radio 1500 AM, and he was a regular contributor to the Federal Drive program's Legal Loop segment.

He was, literally, passionate about government workers. He really lived and breathed federal workers and their rights. I've seen a lot of phonies, but he was for real.

In most massive worldwide organizations — like the U.S. government — there are sometimes heroes we never hear about. People who quietly make things better even though the beneficiaries often don't know who did it, what they did or how they did it. There aren't many of these remarkable hidden heroes. Bill was a giant, whom I was honored to work with for nearly 30 years. He was a true gentleman who never once lost his temper, even while passionately defending the federal employee community. He was always careful and knew of the importance of details, of which he was the master. If Bill said it, you could take it to the bank. I cannot imagine how we will ever fill this hole as there simply is nobody as skilled in this complicated field as Bill.
