Working Abroad: Government Employee Immunity

Bill Bransford, partner at Shaw Bransford & Roth P.C., was interviewed on Federal News Radio's Federal Drive show on November 20, 2008. The interview is available here.

Excerpt: If you commit a crime while you're working abroad for the U.S. government, can foreign authorities lock you up? The answer to that question for U-S troops and contractors in Iraq could be changing soon. Right now they're offered some protections, but whether that continues depends on the Status of Forces Agreement, which is being debated in the Iraqi parliament. Bill Bransford, a partner with the firm Shaw, Bransford, Veilleux and Roth, joins us to talk about immunity during this week's Legal Loop segment.
